BMW F 450 GS India Launch
भारतीय बाइक प्रेमियों के लिए एक बड़ी खुशखबरी है। BMW Motorrad जल्द ही अपनी नई adventure motorcycle – F 450 GS – भारत में लॉन्च करने वाली है। यह बाइक उन लोगों के लिए है जो शहर की भीड़-भाड़ में भी और ऑफ-रोड ट्रेल्स पर भी समान रूप से मजा लेना चाहते हैं।
BMW का GS series पूरी दुनिया में legendary माना जाता है। R 1200 GS से लेकर छोटे G 310 GS तक – हर GS bike ने adventure riding को नया मतलब दिया है। अब F 450 GS उस परंपरा को आगे ले जाने आ रही है।
पहले यह माना जा रहा था कि F 450 GS दिसंबर 2025 में India Bike Week के दौरान launch होगी। लेकिन Goa में चुनाव होने की वजह से India Bike Week Maharashtra shift हो गया, और इस वजह से launch भी delay हो गया। अब नई खबरों के मुताबिक, यह bike January 2026 में launch होने वाली है।
सबसे खास बात यह है कि F 450 GS पूरी तरह से भारत में बनेगी। TVS के Hosur plant में इसका production पहले ही शुरू हो चुका है। यहां से यह bike न सिर्फ भारतीय बाजार के लिए, बल्कि 100 से ज्यादा देशों में export भी की जाएगी।
कुछ dealerships पर unofficial bookings शुरू हो चुकी हैं। ₹10,000 से ₹25,000 तक का token amount देकर लोग अपनी बुकिंग करवा रहे हैं। हालांकि official announcement अभी बाकी है।
BMW F 450 GS discontinued G 310 GS की जगह लेगी। G 310 GS single-cylinder bike थी जो काफी समय से बाजार में थी, लेकिन अब company ने उसे बंद करने का फैसला किया है। F 450 GS एक बड़ा कदम है – bigger engine, twin-cylinder setup, और बहुत ज्यादा features।
Expected Price Range Details
सबसे पहले सवाल – कीमत क्या होगी? क्योंकि BMW का नाम सुनते ही लगता है कि बहुत महंगा होगा।
लेकिन अच्छी बात यह है कि F 450 GS BMW की सबसे affordable adventure bike होगी। इसकी expected price ₹4 लाख से ₹5.5 लाख के बीच है।

यह कीमत ex-showroom होगी। इसमें registration, insurance, road tax add करने पर on-road price ₹4.5 लाख से ₹6 लाख के बीच हो सकती है, शहर के हिसाब से।
भारतीय बाजार में यह pricing बहुत competitive है। देखिए competition:

तो F 450 GS ठीक बीच में positioned है। Royal Enfield से ज्यादा महंगी, लेकिन बड़ी BMW bikes से बहुत सस्ती। Premium feel चाहने वालों के लिए यह sweet spot है।
Engine Specifications And Performance
अब बात करते हैं दिल की – engine की। क्योंकि adventure bike की असली पहचान उसके engine से होती है।
F 450 GS में 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine है। यह engine BMW और TVS ने मिलकर develop किया है। Single-cylinder नहीं, twin-cylinder – यह बड़ा फर्क है।
Power output की बात करें तो 48 hp मिलती है। कुछ sources 48.6 PS बता रहे हैं। यह European A2 license category के हिसाब से perfect है। A2 license holders के लिए maximum 47 hp तक की bikes allowed हैं, तो यह उसी के आसपास है।
Torque है 43 Nm (या 32 lb-ft)। यह mid-range में अच्छा torque है जो trail riding और off-roading में काम आता है।
Engine का 135-degree crankshaft design है। यह क्या होता है? Basically, यह engine की firing order को affect करता है। इससे engine की sound unique होती है और vibrations भी कम होते हैं। Parallel-twin होने के बावजूद यह V-twin जैसा character देता है।
6-speed transmission मिलेगा। Smooth shifting, और अच्छी gear ratios जो highway cruising के साथ-साथ off-road crawling में भी काम आएं।
Slipper clutch standard है। यह downshifting के दौरान rear wheel को lock होने से बचाता है। खासकर adventure riding में जहां terrain बदलता रहता है, यह बहुत जरूरी है।
Engine mount किया गया है transversely यानी आड़ा। यह design choice weight distribution और handling में मदद करता है।
Fuel efficiency की बात करें तो BMW का claim है कि यह 3.8 liters per 100 km खाएगी। मतलब करीब 26 kmpl का mileage। Fuel tank capacity 14 liters है, तो range 350 km से ज्यादा मिल सकती है। Long tours के लिए यह काफी अच्छा है।
Performance numbers देखें तो यह bike 178 kg की है – बहुत lightweight। KTM 390 Adventure (176 kg) से सिर्फ 2 kg भारी। Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 (196 kg) से तो 18 kg हल्की।
इतना कम weight और 48 hp power – मतलब बहुत अच्छा power-to-weight ratio। Bike nimble और responsive होगी।
Top speed की official announcement नहीं है, लेकिन 48 hp और इतने कम weight के साथ 140-150 km/h आसानी से छू लेगी।
Easy Ride Clutch Technology
अब बात करते हैं F 450 GS की सबसे unique feature की – Easy Ride Clutch (ERC)।
यह क्या है? Simple शब्दों में, यह एक ऐसा clutch system है जो आपको बिना clutch lever use किए gear change करने देता है।
Normally, bike चलाते समय gear बदलने के लिए clutch lever खींचना पड़ता है, gear shift करना पड़ता है, फिर clutch छोड़ना पड़ता है। यह process हर बार दोहराना पड़ता है।
Easy Ride Clutch के साथ, आप बस gear lever को move करिए – clutch lever touch करने की जरूरत नहीं। System automatically clutch को engage/disengage करता है।
यह technology कब काम आती है?
Off-road riding – जब आप rough terrain पर हैं, standing position में ride कर रहे हैं, तो हर बार clutch लेवर खींचना मुश्किल हो सकता है। ERC से बस gear shift करिए और focus रखिए balance और throttle control पर।
City traffic – शहर की stop-and-go traffic में हर थोड़ी देर पर clutch खींचते रहना हाथों को थका देता है। ERC इस परेशानी को खत्म करता है।

Adventure bikes generally tall होती हैं। F 450 GS भी कोई exception नहीं होगी। Estimated seat height 830-850mm के बीच हो सकती है।
अगर आपकी height 5’8″ से कम है तो थोड़ा struggle हो सकता है। Tip-toeing हो सकता है। लेकिन इसे manage किया जा सकता है – lower seat option, या suspension lower करवाकर।
Riding Position:
